he was elected in my district long time ago, while i was a primary school kid…

but i didn’t like him as a politician.

    exile,

Ha ha, I was holding the camera. (note: three inappropriate versions of this comment has been edited out.)

    assenav,

you are free to disagree with his politics. In fact, when we chatted last night, he said he didn’t expect to persuade or change the younger generation much (although he tries) but what he care about most is for them to be good people.

  4. assenav says:

    hmm… i didn’t let him down then.

talking about politics, my early education in mainland china had deep influence on my political view.

i didn’t think 4th june was a big deal at all. there’s no “right” or “wrong” in politics, just winners and losers.

    Dear assenav,

    > hmm… i didn’t let him down then.

I am sure he will be happy about it. :)

    > talking about politics, my early education in mainland china had deep influence on my political view.

    Of course, very understandable.

    > i didn’t think 4th june was a big deal at all. there’s no “right” or “wrong” in politics, just winners and losers.

Dear assenav, I am afraid there is “right” and “wrong” in politics. I told 華叔(司徒華)that I have yet to be convinced how can defenseless students and Chinese citizens that were squashed by their government’s tanks be blamed or be at fault?

Now, you are living in HK and don’t have political need to say things to please anyone, may I suggest try to understand why some people think there are right and wrong in June 4th and in politics.

Winners and losers are always present. One day, deep in my deepest heart, I hope the Chinese government will not worry too much about letting their sons and daughters (her citizens) “win” sometimes.

Have a read and listen of Rebecca’s online chat with the patriotic Chinese youth who run anti-CNN.com.

In Canada, we citizens of Canada don’t always win but we win often enough when we are “right”. Our independent Judicial System ensures that with tools like our Charter of Rights and Freedom. Our Charter is designed to ensure and protect Canadians against the temporary insanity of politicians and the unjust rules and laws established by our elected officials.

    Hi assenav,

“手段如何並不重要” is “by any means” which some people (including me) consider as wrong. Just look at what Bush 43 had done in the name of National security. And look at the things Obama 44 had to do to reverse.

I criticize 新加坡 every time I can. The 新加坡 model is they will sue their so-called opposition parties into bankruptcies every chance they have.

Don’t underestimate yourself. The power of one person (woman or man) is much stronger than you think.

哈哈,”沒立場” is also one type of “立場”. Fortunately, in a democracy, you do not have to vote yes or no. Where as in some countries, if you don’t vote along the government, you are considered unpatriotic.

    It affects us everyday.

Enough said by me here as I don’t think we can convince each other of our views in this comment section.

Thanks. 華叔 has my respects for years. He has kept a firm and strong political views for all these years. He is also very gentle man.
