I recently saw a Facebook friend sharing this message (a health “tip”),

You know I think it is very dangerous in passing on health & medical related “tips” without fact checking first. Unfortunately I see health tips like this circulating on the internet (and now on FB) all the time. So I made an exception today and took some time to fact check some claims in this article “[…] 與此同時,胃發酵,變酸,水果一接觸到它們,配著胃酸,整個食物就壞了。” and was able to find this related Q&A from NYT.

The simple answer is “Fruit can be eaten at any time.

I am posting this articlce in hope that others (especially elderly readers) don’t simply pass on medical or health “tips” without fact checking first. It is human to want to seem caring but it doesn’t help if you pass on wrong and bad information, that (like in this case) can be harmful! Why? Because “Fruit can be eaten at any time”! And we have enough other true health concerns to worry about already!
