A sad day for Alberta

CBC reports “Alberta passes law allowing parents to pull kids out of class – Written notice required when sex, sexual orientation, religion are covered“.

This law legalizes parents to discriminate against gays and lesbians and now teachers have to look over their shoulders when they teach. I fully expect this law will be challenged in the courts, all the way to the Supreme Court of Canada, and dividing Alberta in the process of this law suit.

I am usually a proud Albertan. Today, I am ashamed to call myself Albertan.
