甜蜜愛侶 – Sweet couple (Gwen and Ian)

I first clicked through to Gwen and Ian’s blog via one of the comments they left in another blog. Then almost an hour has passed with me clicking around their blog, leaving comments and checking out photos. In this blog world, I feel I know them a little already. What a strange but wonderful feeling.

Incidentally, on top of some interesting blog entries, what impressed me very much were their command of the English and Chinese languages. You see, for each blog entry, they have a Chinese and also an English edition! And both entries are quite readable. Very impressive. And I am not the type that is easily impressed by someone’s command of the two languages. Not that I am an expert but then I can be critical at times.

Check out their blog (Chinese (中文) or English (英文)) and see if you agree. Enjoy.

    Horace,

You are right. If Google translate can do half as good as Gwen and Ian are doing, Google will be much closer to usable.

    Hello Michelle and 南杏,

I of course have heard and read about the famous 「兩周一聚」. Anyone who is someone or wants to be someone has heard about it. (big smile) Thank you so much for your kind invitation and I feel really honoured to be invited.

If I were to reply to 南杏’s 「春」 in a rush, I might have posted this video,

which reminded me of spring (and warmer time). :)

May I take some time to read a few more new topics first before deciding? I hate to join and then write once and give up. :) Hope you understand.

Have fun and keep up the good work.

Thanks for your quick reply! If i understand it well, you would prefer to let another blogger giving the next topic. I look forwards to reading your articles in others topics then :) Have a nice weekend !!

    Hi Michelle,

I would like to just look and read a little for now. I don’t want to commit and then not able to come up with something every two weeks.

I will be paying attention to the upcoming entries as I think the idea of a group of writers writing on a common theme is real interesting.

    Thanks for the kind invite.
    Kempton

kempton, don’t worry about the commitment. Join when you feel it, and leave when you are busy or fed-up… :) I do hope everybody find our 「兩周一聚」fun, and not torture :) By the way you call us a group of ‘writers’… I guess everybody would be happy to hear that :)
I’m not able to explore your whole blog yet, but i did find some nice video filmed by yourself ! will come back and click click through a bit more later :)

    Michelle,

Thanks for the encouragement re 「兩周一聚」.

Ha ha, you are a group of writers indeed. Mind you, I call myself writer or reporter too sometimes. :P

I hope you will enjoy the videos. I also shot some interviews grouped here too. Please explore as you wish.

Well, I am very impressed by Gwen’s blog too. If I remember correctly, she was born in Canada. She is the one who keeps the bilingual blog running. I don’t know any Chinese-American who can speak Chinese. Let alone writing and typing it!

I have followed 兩周一聚 for a month or two now. I enjoy everyone’s writing. Keep up the good work!

    exile from hk,

Yes, I think Gwen mentioned she was born in Canada and the one that keeps up the bilingual blog entries. She has done a great job and they are a cute couple. Very sweet.

Well, Gwen does listen to Lesile Cheung for enjoyment so her Chinese is quite decent. I know a Canadian friend and she learned her Chinese from listening to HK Cantonese songs too. :)

  11. Gwen says:

Kempton: I would like to say Thank You and really glad you enjoy the blog. Well, both Ian and I contribute our part, not just myself.

One thing I would like to clarify, as exile from hk and you mentioned about me was born in Canada, but I actually grew up in HK and Ian grew up in Canada. That’s why we said “Ian is fluent in Eng while I am fluent in Chinese”. we didn’t mean to confuse readers.

Again, we thanks those who enjoy reading our blogs!

  12. kempton says:

    Gwen and Ian,

I see. Oops, my apologies. So you are equal collaborators in this bilingual blog venture and that makes it sweeter. I will correct the blog entry.

Thanks for letting me know of my mistakes so I can fix it. Keep up the good work.
